Case Study · Medical E-Commerce

Spec sheets in.
A shoppable catalog out.

For SunMED Choice, a national supplier of compression garments and specialty medical products, I turned dense manufacturer documentation into complete, easy-to-follow product pages — and helped the team see how the store was performing.

The challenge

Getting the fit right — before the order is placed.

People buying compression wraps and liners usually need one exact configuration: the right size, the right length, sometimes the right color. Many are patients or caregivers, not clinicians, and many are paying with insurance.

Manufacturer literature is written for catalogs and care teams. My job was to translate it into product pages that answer a shopper’s questions on the page itself — what it is, what it does, which option to pick, and how to measure.

What I did

Six jobs behind every listing

01

Research

Worked through manufacturer literature to pin down what each product is, who it is for and how it is measured.

02

Writing

Wrote plain-language descriptions and feature lists a patient or caregiver can follow — not just a clinician.

03

Listings

Built product pages and filed them into the right categories and brand collections so they are easy to find.

04

Variations

Configured size, length and color options so every shopper can select the exact version they need.

05

Visual assets

Added manufacturer photography and sizing charts right where buyers make their choice.

06

Reporting & IT

Summarized site analytics in simple charts for the company and partnered with its IT contact on site functionality.

Beyond the product pages

Keeping the business and the website in sync

Analytics, made readable

I reviewed the site’s traffic and activity data and turned it into simple charts and summaries the company could use to talk about how the store was doing — no dashboard expertise required.

A working partnership with IT

Catalog changes and site health go hand in hand. I worked alongside the company’s IT contact to flag issues and keep the storefront functioning as new products went live.

About this case study. Work performed for SunMED Choice through Social Impressions Agency. Responsibilities are described by Michael Saks for the listings shown. Jobst/Farrow, Medi/circaid and Sigvaris are manufacturers whose products SunMED Choice sells; they were not direct clients.
